What is Project Auto Cart?
FAQ
Project Auto Cart is a platform designed by the electrical engineering seniors of Sonoma State University. This project is to serve as a platform for future senior design projects.
What will the platform do?
The current goal of this project is to achieve semi autonomy, meaning that we will give the cart a pre-determined path and will navigate while stopping for any objects that appear in its path.
What features will the cart have?
The cart will be controlled using a linear actuator for the brakes, a DC motor, chain, and gear for steering, and pulse width modulation for acceleration. The object detection will be accomplished with three forward facing sensors: two ultrasonic sensors and a lidar sensor attached to a stepper motor for sweeping. The directions will come from a GPS and will utilize a compass to maintain its bearing.
Will the cart have feature "x"?
As of now these are the features the cart will have, but may be added depending on what the next group of students want to add to the cart.
What parts did you use for the cart?
